Evermore + Hampdens + Bob Evans

Mellow Sadness to playful youthfulness to beautiful energy is the best way to describe these 3 bands playing along side each other. After i had found my sweet spot to view the show and snap a few photos i relaxed to enjoy the first band up on the night. The Hampdens.

I was hypnotised straight away by the stunning vocals and sadness emanating from Susannah Legge's voice. It seems she is one of the few people who can portray clearly her emotions through her voice. This band was definitely the most surprising for the night. I will be looking forward to hearing from this band as they grow and prosper. Also you could take home the band's 2 ep's on 1 CD for $2. Definitely worth the investment.

Next up we were graced with the presence of Bob Evans and his cheeky band. Loud and proud the band blasted through a set which got the crowd energised and excited. Delightfully cheerful and always entertaining "Don't You Think It's Time" was a crowd favourite.

Finally Evermore graced the stage. Like a tornado of emotion and savage energy the first few songs didn't give anyone any time to think...just to enjoy a wonderfully talented group of young individuals gusting out beautiful lyrical synergies. Favourites of the night would have to be 'come to nothing' and 'unbreakable'. Each song kept the crowd entranced and energetic. It was good to see a few familiar faces within the crowd as well. My favourite moment was the never ending drum solo by Dan Hume. After the first few songs i had to give up my photography and join the crowd. Jon Hume seemed not into the gig as much as i expected. He was the only band member to not sign things after the show. Which was a little disappointing. Nevertheless i hope to see the boys again in the near future.

Evermore

Hey brothers and sisters. I will be heading to Evermore at the Plantation Hotel on Wednesday Night. Hopefully i will be able to take some photos

Beginning

Thankyou for stopping by my newly created blog for Australian Music. I have always been intensly fascinated about the live experience of a band ever since my first introduction into the scene. To experience and flow with a crowd brings thoughts of magic that has been long lost in this society. A magic that tears you apart and integrates you into the collective unconcious. This is the experience i have been addicted too and love being a part of.

I would love to hear of anyone else's experiences and hope i share one with you in the near future
